Sign up for strong college preparatory courses your senior year. Consider Advanced Placement (AP) courses to help you prepare for college-level work. Think about taking a course at a local community college. If you want to study something that your school doesn't offer, your neighborhood college might be able to help.
Use your spring break to visit the colleges your interested in. Meet with an admissions officer, talk to students, and start pretending you're in college already. It won't be long now.
Start looking and asking around for a great summertime opportunity. It could be a job, an internship, a volunteer position, or a summer college course. Talk to your guidance counselor, parents, friends, friends' parents, local businesses, libraries, and local community organizations about summer opportunities that put you out front for your senior year college preparations.
